The second year of Rivals Week wrapped up this weekend. How did you guys feel about it?
In my opinion it was alright. I feel for the players because of how stacked the schedule has been since the all-star break.
The scheduling of games has been…a little off this season. I am sure there is a method to the madness. However, Rivals Week was brutal for the Aces.
Before the week was started they had an overtime victory over the Fever Aug 6. They had to go back west to rumble with Minnesota Aug 8.
The cherry on top was having to do a crazy turn around to play across the country to play the Liberty at 11am central. A’ja did not play in that game which sucks for fans, but it is understandable.
Many of the games did not feel like rivals facing off against each other, especially the ones with the newer teams.
What I enjoyed the most was being able to reminisce with this article from the W about the rivalries over the years.
I remember so many of these matchups from Coop against Spoon to Parker against Moore.
As a Parker fan I was so excited when LA was able to finally get over the hump against Minnesota.
I almost teared up when Candace began crying saying that the chip was for Pat Summit. It was a really good series.
