Washington is currently holding on to that 8th seed with a 2.5 game lead over the Portland Fire. They went on a bit of a run to climb to this spot, but they have only won 5 of their last 10 games. Hopefully they can keep up the momentum after that all-star break.
I was not sure what to expect from this young squad, but they have been surprisingly impressive. The Mystics are a fun team to watch. Sonia, Kiki Iriafen, Lauren Betts and Austin are a fantastic core to build upon.
A win over the Golden State Valkyries was big time. It was a showcase of what the team is capable of against one of the best defensive teams in the league.
